I must say the first time you look in the mirror and see stomach cellulite, it is quite upsetting.

It actually crept in on me without me noticing and one day I looked in the mirror and there it was! (Just into my early forties). Having always had very little extra in my tummy area, I found this very upsetting.

The paragraph above is a common statement as we move into our 40's and beyond. Some women even develop cellulite in the stomach area sooner. I was quite active in my younger years, so I managed to keep the stomach cellulite at bay for quite a while.

The key to getting rid of cellulite is to catch it early - at first sign, you need to commit yourself to taking action. The longer you put it off, the more difficult it is to get rid of. First step is to try to increase your metabolism. This helps you burn more calories, and in turn you can stop the cellulite from appearing even worse by reducing the fat that surrounds it.

These all have an impact on your metabolism, using more than one of these suggestions does increase your metabolism at a higher rate than just doing one (like my favorite - sleeping!) So pick 2 or more from the list and give it a try - this is a great way to start shedding extra pounds easily, and reduce the appearance of cellulite on the stomach. With increased metabolism you have way more energy - with increased energy levels, finding time to excercise becomes less of a chore and finally, actually doing your 30-40 minutes of cardio excercise becomes a whole lot easier. Remember, cellulite is not fat, it is the breakdown of our cells, allowing toxins and fluid into the layer of our skin. This appears lumpy and bumpy when we look at it.

How about a sensible diet? All of us (hopefully) try our best to eat a sensible diet - if you aren't doing this, it is a must. You can not eat greasy food, excessive carbs, junk food or loads of fatty foods and expect to see results. How about a little moderation with those oh so tempting desserts?, or skip the potatoe at dinner and have extra steamed vegetables. Eating right is a choice, and if you want to get rid of your cellulite - the choice of what you eat is yours.

Last - You must drink plenty of water, this helps flush the toxins from the body and reduce the appearance of cellulite. Water also keeps your system in working order and is so great for the skin.
